[Juba, South Sudan, TCT, By Francis Mading] Ethiopia’s state minister for Petroleum, Koang Tut Lam, said his country could save between 15-20% of the $3.4 billion used to import up to 4 million tons of refined oil from the Middle East yearly.
Amadi State governor, briefed President on Luri Bridge
[Juba, South Sudan, TCT] The governor of South Sudan’s Amadi state, Joseph Ngere Paciko briefed President Salva Kiir on Thursday about the situation of Luri River bridge, after seven people died while crossing it last month. Ngere said there are plans to fix the bridge and have been included in the developmental programs. He spoke to reporters after meeting the President in Juba.
“plans are underway to repair it [the bridge] ,” he affirmed.
Last week, residents of Amadi state urged the government to repair the bridge to facilitate movement from Juba to Western Equatoria region.
The appeal was made when the country’s Vice-President, James Wani Igga made an official visit to the State.
Luri River bridge is on the road connecting Juba to Western Equatoria and beyond into Bahr al Ghazal.
Ngere also said he discussed with President Kiir the progress on the implementation of the revitalized peace agreement.

South Sudan agrees to adjust work permit fees
[Juba, South Sudan, TCT] --- South Sudan Information Minister, Michael Makuei Lueth, said his government is ready to adjust hiking work permit fees. This will create a conducive atmosphere to foreign NGO workers in the country and avert humanitarian crises.
