Manawa Peter Gatkuoth, deputy spokesman for the opposition, said in media statements, that Machar's visit to Juba had been scheduled to arrive on Tuesday.
"Dr. Machar will come to Juba today," said Manawa, noting that South African Vice President, David Mapusa, who is mediating in the talks on the number of states, will hold meetings with the two principals today.
Manawa said the opposition leader is expected to hold talks with President Salva Kiir to discuss outstanding provisions of the peace agreement.
The scheduled meeting for all parties to the peace agreement comes as the February 22 deadline to form a transitional government draws near.
The steps towards implementing the main provisions of the peace agreement including unification of the forces and to determine the number and borders of the states, are still far behind.
Talks are expected to continue between opposition and government as part of efforts to work on anticipated formation of government of national unity.
With the facilitation of the IGAD mediators and international community, both Machar, the leader of the Opposition and Kiir, the President are reported to make final consultation to pave way on the details pertaining the number of states and unification of security forces.
